WaterFurnace has been a global leader in the development of the geoexchange industry since they were first formed in 1983. Listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, Canada as WFI, their main manufacturing facility is in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA.
The WaterFurnace reputation is based on superior build quality and superior efficiency. They were the first to introduce ECM motors, a two speed compressor and the non-ozone depleting R410A refrigerant among others to water sourced equipment. This innovation has enabled them to consistently lead the efficiency race in the industry, enjoying on average a two year lead on competitors when it comes to efficiency outcomes.
Their latest Envision was the first unit to achieve a COP (heating) of 5 and EER (cooling) of 30 under the ARI ratings. This provided WaterFurnace with 19 of the top 20 efficiency ratings with ARI.

There are two main types of ground source heat pumps. Water to air units are used for air ducted systems while water to water units are used for hydronic or underfloor (in-slab) heating as well as for heating swimming pools, spas, aquariums and ice melt for roads and footpaths in colder climates.
WaterFurnace also manufacture a unit which combines hydronics with ducting in a single unit. The Synergy 3D has won a number of innovation awards and is the perfect way to efficiently provide hydronic heating and ducted cooling.
