GeoExchange Australia once again attended the All Energy Expo at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Now in its second year, All Energy once again proved itself to be a leading forum for the renewable energy and energy efficiency industry.
In addition to the exhibition space, GeoExchange's Managing Director, Yale Carden, presented on district geoexchange heating and cooling systems. The presentation was based upon a recent White Paper prepared by Yale and Brann James, one of our Geoexchange Engineers.
Application of geoexchange at the district scale includes schools, universities, sub divisions, CBD areas, anyhwere where multiple buildings can be connected to a common or communal ground loop. These systems become an integral utility service to the development and can provide a range of benefits to the developer, the geoexchange utility provider and the end user.
Benefits include reduced capital and ongoing costs, long term income streams, peak load reductions and subsequent electrical infrastructure savings and water savings (if removing cooling towers).
